Contact Us

The Tavern was originally built as a residence in the 1920s and for many years housed the “Pink House” antique store before it was purchased by the Clark family in the 1980s. The building became part of the Clark estate when it was moved 100 feet to the east in 1996. Douglas Clark, with the help of Chuck Gittner, built the large southerly addition. Much of the extensive wood work was done by James “Bo” Alvis. Atlas Welding built the extensive wrought iron stairs and railings. The Tavern was opened in 2002 and serves as a reception venue for The Estate on the Halifax.

Tavern History

The building became part of the Clark Estate in 1996 when it was relocated 100 feet to the east of the original location. A large southerly addition was added in 2000 using salvaged wood to maintain the building’s character. A second addition was added in 2012 enclosing the northeast patio area adding lots of floor to ceiling glass windows now provides a glimpse into the garden.
